Hafa Adai! I am a fourth year medical student and aspiring Otolaryngologist. I graduated with a degree in Biochemistry and worked a number of years in big pharma doing early drug discovery research before going to med school. I am passionate about understanding disparities in cancer care in Pacific Islander communities.
I was born in Saipan but grew up in the village of Dededo. I am Chamorro and Filipino, and a proud product of our public school system, having attended Chief Brodie Elementary, FBLG, and Simon Sanchez High School (Go Sharks!). Currently, I am based in New Orleans, attending Tulane University School of Medicine. I am passionate about helping build our healthcare workforce in Guam. While we have excellent physicians who are deeply committed to serving our community, there is still a significant gap in healthcare providers. I believe this gap can only be bridged by educating and supporting more homegrown physicians. I have great faith in the talent within Guam and hope to be a strong advocate and mentor for anyone interested in pursuing a career in medicine. My goal is to return to the island after completing my residency training and support our only Otolaryngologist in providing excellent head and neck surgical care in the Pacific.
