Hafa Adai! My name is Darlene Ferrer. I was born in the Philippines and raised in Dededo, Guam. I graduated from John F. Kennedy High School (2018) and the University of Guam (2022) with B.S. in Chemistry and Biology. I spent 2 gap years as a Doctoral Diversity Program scholar at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine conducting RNA therapeutics research. I am now an M1 at the University of Michigan Medical School. I am looking forward to helping others navigate their journey and increase our representation in medicine. Outside of medicine, I enjoy playing tennis, baking, traveling, and trying out new restaurants and bakeries.
